Many people have bee n saying that the secret is based on the Laws of Attraction. I have been struggling to find an adequate definition. Here is a couple of definitions I could find:

“the Law of Attraction states that you’ll attract to your life whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to, whether wanted or unwanted–emphasis on the unwanted. The “vibes” that you put out (also called vibrations) are either negative vibes or positive vibes, and at every moment, the Law of Attraction is responding to the vibes you are offering by giving you more of the same, whether wanted or unwanted.”

    – Michael Losier

“Self-esteem entails the idea of feeling in control of your existence. This feeling requires that you operate purposefully, since it is only through your goals and purposes that you can have any control over your life.”

    – Nathaniel Branden

the secret is something to do with a man named,
charles f. haanel and the many books that he has written
and banned by the catholic church for around 70 years.
    and now its back.
    charles was a freemason….

I am afraid that this is a continuation of occult thinking. We do not have the power to metaphysically change the world around us just by speaking it into existence. All of that sort of thinking is presupposing that we are more powerful than God Himself…and that’s simpy not going to be true. We cannot replace God, nor can we command God to do our bidding. Only through submission to His will can we hope to have complete success in THIS life. Beware the occult who will have you believe that you have the power of Heaven. You do not, and never will.

    thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Don,

I appreciate your concerns, but Jesus himself said that we all have the power of heaven within us. We are afterall made in god’s image.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye recieve them, and ye shall have them.
    Mark 11:24

Which is exactly what the Law of attraction states. There is nothing occult about it.

Having the power of heaven, and heaven responding to the wishes of God’s greatest creation are two different things.

Also, what you are saying is that the tens of thousands of quantum physisits around the world who have begun to show the effects of this theory in their research and experiements, are also wrong, and are doing so when you have done no research yourself.

These scientists are proving again and again that we can, and are constantly, metaphysically changing the world around us.

In my own life I have seen the law off attraction work so many times, it must exist.

I know that I will not change your mind with this, but I hope that one day you can come to realise the truth of it, so you can reap the benefits of the gifts god has given to us all.
